We are a traditional judo club which teaches traditional judo and its values and we welcome vistors of all grades and organisations into our dojo. Our judo is based on the teachings of Dr Jigoro Kano, the founder of judo and those of Kenshiro Abbe, 8th Dan Butokukai, the founder of the British Judo Council, the national body to which we are affilated. We are also affiliated to Dundee City Sports Council.

Our aim is make our students as good as they can possibly be at Judo and assist them to develop their own individuality both on and off the mat. Affliated to the Cumbria & Borders Area of the BJC, we encourage our members to take part in area and national events.

Those who wish to take a more contested oriented approach are encouraged to do so, but not at the expense of other members of our club. We consider that the club is there for the benefit of all its members, following Dr Kano's maxim of Mutal Welfare and Benefit.
